Computer Mentor – Healthy Computer

I have put together a sampling of the more popular movies put up on the big screen in 2008. This list consists of the movies I found entertaining in this years crop. I’m sure that you can find some films here that are good viewing.

ROLE MODELS: Danny and Wheeler, a couple of energy drink sales people, might be seeing some hard jail time after trashing the company truck. The option to get out of going to prison is to work in community service for 150 hours. The catch is they will have to work as mentors with difficult children as sort of a big brother. The pieces are all in place for this to be very funny.

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS: Full time stoner Dale Denton unfortunately has just viewed a crooked cop and the local drug king pin, commit a murder. The killers know he has seen the crime. Knowing they’ve seen him, he drops his joint of pineapple express, and he flees. The weed is so special, that the bad guys can trace it. The “fun” is on, the bad guys are hunting, and Dale and dealer Saul are on the run.

TWENTY ONE: Twenty One basically recounts the actual tale of M.I.T. wiz kids who formed a team of blackjack players that beat the casinos. These wiz kids learned to beat the game, and then performed an assault on the casinos. To play in Las Vegas, where players who beat the game can be banned from playing, they had to change casinos often, and disguise themselves, so he wouldn’t get caught. Twenty One is based on the book that explains how these kids made millions playing blackjack.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: On a quest to find his missing brother, science professor Trevor Anderson explores caves in Iceland, and that puts him on a journey to the center of earth. This is a new version of the original 1959 movie that was formed from the classic novel by renowned author Jules Verne. Cast includes Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutchinson, Anita Briem, and Seth Myers.

WANTED: Wesley Gibson is about to learn that his long lost father is a professional killer. When his father is killed, Wesley is basically forced into the group of assassins that his father was a part of. He now will become the killing expert that that he was destined to become. From that point on, this movie gets extremely complicated. Hang on to your seat.

STEP BROTHERS: Two forty year old child adults, who both live at home with one parent, find themselves having to live in the same room because their mom and dad get married, you have one crazy situation. Casting John Reilly and Will Ferrell as the key players, and this has the makings for lots of laughs. This movie is a must see if your looking for some laughs.

Jumper: Nearing death by drowning, David Rice discovers he has an unbelievable ability. He now knows he can teleport himself to anywhere he desires to be, anytime he wants. He then comes to learn that he is not the only one that has this capability. After years of “jumping” around the planet, he is exposed to hunters that think jumpers are a threat, and need to be eliminated. Now he is in a fight for survival, as the hunters want him dead.

THE CHRONICALS OF NARNIA, PRINCE CASPIAN: It is one year later, in their normal lives when, the four saviors of Narnia, Lucy, Susan, Peter, and Edmund are mysteriously pulled back into Narnia. Fearing for his life Prince Caspian has blown the magic horn, praying that he will be saved. In Narnia, 1,300 years have passed since they were Kings and Queens, but they now return to rescue Narnia from an evil fate. With the aid of the bravest in the forest, including, a dwarf, the centaurs, and a very skilled mouse, they conquer their foes and free Narnia.

BOLT: Bolt: This film is a fun animation. Bolt is a dog actor, who plays the role of a dog that has superpowers. His problem is that he honestly believes he has superpowers. After he is unexpectedly thrown into the real world, he discovers that he is just a dog. Needing to find his way home, he is aided by Mittens, the cat, and Rhino, the hamster.

Most people buy or rent these movies, so they can see them in the comfort of their living rooms. A more recent method for getting films is by downloading them directly from online sources. Online providers have websites that will download almost any film you can think of.
