The Rapidshare file host provides users with a comfortable way to upload files securely to the Internet. The file limit for free users is 100 Megabytes and users will receive a unique address pointing to their uploaded files so that other users can download it from there.

Games, movies and music are the most popular “illegal” uploads that users can find on Rapidshare. The file hoster is constantly monitoring file uploads to prevent this from happening.

Files with copyrights will be deleted by Rapidshare if they are discovered which is why those users have started to rename the files and add password protections to them to avoid the deletion.

It is usually advised to avoid titles that might hint at copyright violations even if the files are not copyrighted at all. It is also common to upload files larger than 100 Megabytes as multiple parts by using archivers.

The Rapidshare service is an easy way to make files available on the Internet without having a homepage. Users of any experience levels can use the service to upload their files easily.
